    What Are High VG E Liquids?

    High-VG, or ‘Sub-Ohm’ eliquids contain a higher ratio of vegetable glycerin (VG) to propylene glycol (PG), two common food-grade chemicals that give e-liquid its character. PG carries flavour better than VG, generally speaking, and provides a stronger throat hit, which makes it suitable for classic starter kits or Pod Kits that ‘fire’ at lower power outputs. VG, on the other hand, creates those thick, dense clouds that make vaping such a great substitute for smoking while being easier on the throat. VG liquids can take higher power outputs from devices they’re compatible with; devices that use sub-ohm coils, or coils that fire at below 1.0ohm resistance. This combination of higher output and smoother throat hit helps produce those voluminous clouds beloved by many vapers without sacrificing flavour and performance.

    What are Shortfill E-Liquids?

    You can find high-VG, sub-ohm eliquids as TPD-compliant 10ml bottles with varying strengths of nicotine, usually from 3mg to 6mg of nicotine. But a recent revolution in e-liquid has brought High-VG juice to even greater prominence and utility with the introduction of Shortfill bottles.

    Shortfill eliquid bottles usually come in bottles of 60ml volume, with 50ml or nicotine-free High-VG eliquid and 10ml of space to top up with a nicotine shot ‘booster’. The beauty of shortfills is that, depending upon how frequently you vape, a shortfill bottle can last for many weeks, potentially saving you money that you would have spent topping up with individual 10ml bottles. Also, shortfills allow the vaper to adjust the exact nicotine content of their juice with separate nic-shots, which means you always know how much nicotine you’re vaping and can you gradually decrease if you wish to eventually go nic-free.

    What Vape Kit should you use High VG E-liquids with?

    High-VG, sub-ohm e-liquids can be used with a great many different varieties if Vape Kit. To use them at their most effectively, however, means using them with the right coil. High-VG juices work best with sub-ohm coils – coils with a resistance below 1.0ohm. This means they fire at higher power outputs, often between 20w – 100w and even 200w! You can use high-VG eliquids in classic starter kits and Pod Kits and more advanced sub-ohm devices and tanks, but you should check the resistance of the coil that comes with the kit or tank, and the power output of the battery, or ‘mod’, first.

    What is the right High VG strength for you?

    High-VG e juices are usually available in nicotine volumes of 3mg, 6mg, 9mg, 12mg and even 20mg. Because every vaper’s different, and higher nicotine levels can often produce a harsher throat sensation, we suggest trying e-liquids with a lower concentration of nicotine, testing the vape experience, and adjusting to higher nicotine juices if you don’t feel you’re cravings are satisfied.
