The NEW Voopoo Argus MT & Voopoo Argus XT 100W Vape Kits

As we close out 2022, it’s amazing how many fantastic new vape kits continue to arrive at Vapestore. So when big names like VooPoo launch the latest kits to join their bestselling Argus range, it’s always an especially exciting event for us as big VooPoo fans, as well as for our customers. And for fans of sub-ohm vaping in particular, the arrival of the VooPoo Argus MT and XT 100W vape kits is an excuse to get excited indeed.  

You may be familiar with VooPoo already, one of the biggest brands in vaping and a company that have consistently produced some of the best vaping equipment enjoyed by millions of vapers all over the world. With game-changing devices like the Drag range of powerful box mod kits, and hugely influential pod kits such as those found in the VooPoo Vinci line-up, to say nothing of their outstandingly versatile range of VooPoo coils, it’s fair to say that VooPoo have made their mark on the vaping industry in a big way.  

In this blog, we’ll take a look at the newest additions to VooPoo’s high-performance Argus range, the VooPoo Argus MT and XT 100W vape kits, as well as the new VooPoo MAAT 2ml sub-ohm vape tank, and what you can expect from these great new Argus vape devices from VooPoo. 

What are the VooPoo Argus MT and XT vape kits? 

The VooPoo Argus MT and XT are vape kits designed for sub-ohm vaping with high-VG e-liquids. As such, they are high-powered devices with a max power output of 100W (80W with a single 18650 battery in the XT model) and are paired with the new MAAT 2ml sub-ohm tank, also from VooPoo. 

The MT and XT share the hallmarks of the other devices in the Argus family of vape kits from VooPoo, which put a priority on durability and performance, making the Argus MT and XT kits super-tough vape devices that are especially suited for vapers who lead an active lifestyle. Fashioned from durable yet lightweight stainless steel, zinc alloy and leather, the Argus XT and MT boast rugged good looks and a supremely comfortable grip, thanks to that grippy leather back panel. Both kits are IP68 certified for resistance to water, dust and shocks.  

They are, we don’t mind saying, very attractive vape kits too, which is little surprise given that VooPoo excels at great design and functional aesthetics. Both kits are slim and surprisingly compact for such powerful vapes, and feature precision-engineered industrial zinc alloy contours and smooth curves, all adding up to a device that’s great to hold and use over extended periods. They are both fairly lightweight, although not quite as light as a pod kit, but nonetheless feel more solid and premium for their more substantial build quality.  

The VooPoo Argus XT and MT 100W vape kits are available in five stylish and tasteful colourways, including Graphite, Dark Blue, Pearl, Lime Green and Carbon Fibre.  

VooPoo Argus MT Vs XT: What are the differences? 

The latest VooPoo Argus kits, the MT and XT, are actually the same device with a slight difference: the MT features an integrated 3000mAh battery, while the XT requires a single 18650 or 21700 Battery (sold separately). The advantage of the XT’s external battery is that you can carry a spare as backup – useful to keep your kit fully charged if you’re separated from a power supply for a time; say, if you were camping. An 18650 battery will enable a maximum power output of 80W, while the larger 21700 battery can handle a maximum output of 100W. The advantage of the MT is that replacing batteries needn’t be a concern at all. With an impressive 3000mAh internal battery, VooPoo Argus MT users should have plenty of juice to see them through a day of vaping. Both devices feature a USB Type-C charge port for up to 30% faster charging than similar models. 

There is also a slight difference between the kits with the VooPoo Argus’ cool new feature: an adjustable QS locking mechanism. On the VooPoo Argus XT, the QS switch is located just above the fire button. Positioned in the middle, the switch allows for normal use while adjusting the switch to the left completely locks the device – all settings and vaping are locked – and sliding to the right allows vaping only. On the MT, the QS switch is smaller and located below the screen. The MT switch only locks the device to prevent vaping. Whichever device you use, the Argus XT or the Argus MT, the QS switch is a simple and effective way to lock the device to prevent pocket misfires and your carefully adjusted settings thrown off kilter without needing to power off the device.  

VooPoo Argus XT & MT: Features 

The VooPoo Argus XT and the VooPoo Argus MT 100W vape kits both feature VooPoo’s advanced GENE.TT chipset which offers seven safety protections, super-fast firing speeds and several power modes: 

• TURBO - Increases vapour volume by 25% in just 1 second. 
• SMART - Automatically chooses the recommended power output based on the resistance of the coil you use 
• RBA/ Variable Wattage – Adjust the power from 5 to 100W.
• TC - Temperature Control, 3 customised vaping modes 

On the VooPoo Argus XT kit, the chipset will automatically detect whether you use a 18560 or 21700 battery, and manage the power accordingly. Both the device’s settings, including Mode, Puff Counter and Voltage, are displayed on a crystal-clear, crisp and colourful 80 x 32mm TFT screen with a welcome emphasis on a bold, bright wattage counter (because, let’s face it, that’s the setting most of us care about anyway.) 

We’ve already mentioned the handy QS switch which can lock the device preventing misfires and your settings being tampered with. The kits also include a lanyard clip if you like a hands-free option, although neither the Argus XT nor the MT is a device we’d personally enjoy dangling from our necks.  

What coils do the VooPoo Argus MT & XT and VooPoo MAAT tank use? 

As the VooPoo Argus XT and MT mods are high-powered mods, they are best suited to coils with a low resistance (if that sounds counter-intuitive, our simple Guide to Sub-Ohm Vaping should dispel any confusion!)
